Bad horsie 2 question and Amp Question

i just acquired a bad horsie 2 wah...joy!!!
i have but one question. is there anyway to get rid of those sudden peaks in the wah???

and my second question is.

i need some amp recommendations. do you guys prefer the legacy or the new JSX head. or any other peavey/carvin \heads....

Maybe turning it to contour mode and turning the level/contour down.
