i have a crybaby right now, it's gotten crappy with age, its picked up radio signals at times and all weird stuff
also everytime i click it on it makes a big click through my amp
i'm gonna try out a bad horsie tonight, just the switchless makes me wanna get it

Re: Bad Horsie Wah
the fact that you don't have the option to leave it 'open' turns me off. I have the roland v-wah that I love. It's very flexible and dependable.

Re: Bad Horsie Wah
+1 on the V-Wah.
I have a Bad Horsie in my box-o-pedals collecting dust, but I only keep it around as an emergency backup wah.
The Boss V-Wah does the Morley, Dunlop, Vox and more.

Re: Bad Horsie Wah
Look man, fix the Wah you have!
Its kinda nice, but seriously, I would take the Crybaby anyday! Ive built about 4 wahs for myself, yours is an easy fix...

Re: Bad Horsie Wah
I have never tried the roland wah, but would be interested to check it out. Though i own a Crybaby 535Q, my Morley is on my
pedal board
now, the switchless design makes helps me out alot, haha.

We call that a pedal graveyard.
Got a Whammy 4, Boss NS-2, DS-1, DD-6 and a few others resting in peace.
I can't say anything about the original Bad Horsie, but the BH2 is badass. Honestly, I hate having to press a button to turn on the wah. Morley's way on just stepping on the pedal is just so easy; just let it go to turn it off. You could just leave your foot on there to keep it open.
To each his own.

Re: Bad Horsie Wah
I had a Bad Horsie. It was actually my first wah. I eventually got rid of it and went with a Budda Wah. But....I'd take the Bad Horsie any day over any Cry Baby.

The budda Wah is based on a Crybaby, with Fasel inductor... how would you not take the Crybaby (which actually uses an inductor) over the Morely (which is all digital).

Everyone has a different opinion. I went from crybaby to morley and I don't plan on turning back. I still have my 535 and crybaby from hell for backups, but i love the simplicity and sound of the bh2 as well as my old school
morley wah
from the 70's. If everyone shared the same opinion, the world would be boring.

It's just personal preference. I don't care what's cheap, boutique, analog, digital, etc.....if it sounds good, I'll use it. I really liked the sound of the BH wah. I also really dig the sweep of the Budda. It may be Cry Baby based....but it's not the same thing. If I wanted a Cry Baby....I'd buy a Cry Baby.....but I have done a a/b with them both, and found the Budda more usable for the stuff I play. I actually liked it more than the Fulltone Clyde Dlx wah.

Re: Bad Horsie Wah
i have 2 original bad horsies. i went from dunlop to morley, too. i hate switched wahs, and i need the sweep of the morley. plus i am not a big fan of nasally wahs. the BH is just a bigger sounding wah. have owned an original tom organ wah and still enjoy my BH more. all this aside, tho, i am NOT an avid wah user. i don't even run pedals live, just the line6 floorboard to my flextone2. i used to have a big rack based rig and got really tired of troubleshooting my rig if something went wrong. i just plug and go. i am not that big of a fan of the line6 wah, so i don't use it live. when i finally get off my lazy butt and build my custom pedalboard then i'll run my BH live. long story short, i love the BH!!!

Re: Bad Horsie Wah
I like the way the Morley works without a switch and such. But I find that I don't hear as good of wah as I do when people use Duops and some other good wahs. The BH2 is too trebelly ranged it doesn't get as good of an ahh sound.
Actually I would like to know what kind of wah would you recommend to get the kind of sound that Petrucci and Satch have?
