Basses
Hey guys, I didn't know where to put this but I kinda wanted to make a Thread for all the ppl that play bass. I played upright bass before I played electric and I played those before I played
electric guitar
. I actually had a few questions, I have a Yamaha BEX-BS (
Billy Sheehan
Model not his normal ATT) and I have been GASing for another bass, but I am not sure what to get. I sorta would like an ATT but I don't want to have only Sheehan basses.
I was checking out Ibanez and I've never played one or even heard anyone speak of them so how are these?
http://www.ibanez.com/bass/guitar.aspx?m=SR1000EFM
it looks pretty awesome.
What bass would you recommend I get next? I love my dad's G&L L-2000 Tobacco Burst, but its kinda heavy and I think my Sheehan plays a little better. I play 4 strings mostly, I've never felt the need to go to 5 or 6 but if you guys think maybe I should try it out then recommend a 5 or 6 stringer.
(Maybe post some pics of your basses too
)

I find the SR series basses very comfortable to play.

Re: Basses
I have an Ibanez SR506- 6-string, bubinga and wenge neck,
mahogany body
, Bartolini pickups and pre-amp. pretty good bass, and for the money, can't be beat. Also have a Squier active Jazz V, 5-string, modified to fretless. Both are not expensive and are very good, in my opinion.

Re: Basses
I always hear great things about Warwick, are those expensive? and if they are is it worth the extra moola.
Also this reminds me, did the ATT bass just get back in production cause on the Yamaha website they dont show the BEX-Bs but they show the Attitude again

Re: Basses
Ah I just had another bass pop into my head, the Marcus Miller signature. I think that thing is a beast! Anyone have experience with this bass?

Re: Basses
Bongo basses are sweet!
I have an old
Ibanez Roadstar
bass that my dad bought around 1986. It plays well for what it is.

I've got this one, as well as a cheaper GSR200FM. I only play the 506 now though. I LOVE this bass. I'd be satisfied if I never bought another bass.
