Best Way To Record To Computer? - Without New Equipment

What would be the best way to record my guitar into my computer without buying a new soundcard etc.? *I have a Flextone II. *Would it be better to mic it with the PC mic (not bad sound quality), try and hook up my real mic to my computer, or record direct? *Don't worry about software, just how to get the sound into the computer.

I use a Shure SM58 to mic my amp and plug it into the mic in of my SB Live. If I'm recording at 3 AM, I plug my Zoom 505 II directly into the soundcard line-in. If your amp has a line-out, try connecting it directly. Just be careful with the volume, though. You don't want to fry your soundcard, right?

Very true on the volume things. *Direct in also helps since I'll be recording in a crowded house in a room with NO DOOR! and paper thin walls. *Although I don't have an SB Live! or anything like that. *Would it work to plug right into my regular sound card?

Yup. *Sound quality depends on the card, but it'll work. *You just need a 1/8" stereo plug into the LINE IN on the card.
