bill lawrence pick up (old L500) installed

... in the bridge of my schecter PT. wired series(pull)paralel. i've heard that they are bright so i didn't want to risk too shrill of a sound in single mode. just as well !!!it really is bright! also this little piggy tends to squeel(when you don't cover the strings with your hand) while drowned in gain(a/b/c tested it with my LP Custom-gibsons- and US Koa BC Rich Mockingbird-Dimarzios-not a trace of feedback on either of them while in the same circumstances...) but on the same settings other two play as if they're talking with their hands over their mouths so...it's to be somewhat expected(more treble, more sqeeeeeek). but...bloody harmonics are just jumping out of the strings. start pinching and it's bill gibbons squared. and it really shreds while in parallel mode actually made schecter sound like a tele for the first time in it's existence !!! who would've thought? it measured 4.5 of something per coil(ohms? just a little info for you techies)....and now for the question: what kind of epoxy should i dip the sucker in? just any old epoxy or is there a kind that's better than the other? please nothing hot 'cose i'm scared of burning something inside. it really sounds good and it's worthy of preserving!

have it repotted in wax. personally i hate the lawrence ?-500 series. i can't understand why dime and nuno both used them for so long. now i am glad to see dime moved to duncan. anyhoo, he is a link to give more insight on repotting.

Youll probably find that with the old lawrence pickups thats just how they work, they are HOT. Ive always dug these pickups but be prepared to use a noise gate. I know you love the tone though

They are harmonic pickups. Thats what they do well. harmonics. Just too hot for most peoples taste, and quite unforgiving as they dont mask much of anything, but its that nice scratch that makes them so clear
