Blackheart little giant or Vox ac4tv

Hi all -

So i have decided to upgrade from my vox ad15 (the original series) to a tube amp. Looking for something nice and clean, will add pedals to get my distortion. Looking at the vox ac4tv and the blackheart little giant. Both are relatively inexpensive and are low wattage.
So what's the verdict? The little giant has three band eq whereas the box has a tone knob. 12" (little giant) vs 10" (vox) speaker.

thanks in advance

jeff

I really like my Blackstar HT5 - I have the head+spkrs, also available as combo. No reverb, but you can put a Verbzilla in the effects loop for that.

No he's talking about the blackheart not the blackstar.. completely different amp. I've seen this in ads too I was curious how this thing sounded... it seems like the perfect grab-and-go amp as well (they even have a 1 watt version i think).

Re: Blackheart little giant or Vox ac4tv

I've played a modded blackheart. It was amazing for the size and price. Someone modded it to have a attenuator and to be able to do marshall, vox, and fender sounds all controlled by a toggle.

Apparently, it's a popular and inexpensive mod. It sounds killer for classic rock with a OD pedal it'll probably scream. I don't know, however, what it sounds like without the mod.

Heck if I was looking for a cheap tube practice amp it would be high on the list. If you get one and are interested in that mod; look it up. I may also be able to help you find info.
