Boomerang Phrase Sampler

Hi,

http://www.boomerangmusic.com/

Im really concidering getting one of these so I can play some live shows by my self(since Im having mega trouble finding compatant musicians to play with). And Ive got several songs I have written that are ready to be played live, My idea is to play a chord progression(or riff) for a min or two then play the progression back in a continous loop then solo over it or play a melody or whatever over it.

Anyone else done somthing like that with this unit? They are $400 on average, so any opinions on my idea or any words of wisdom on this unit would be great!
Thanks,
Nick

Re: Boomerang Phrase Sampler

Check the sampling time on it and compare against something like the Boss RC20XL. I have the original RC20 and it has 10 minutes of sample time available, plus you can store phrases in 10 different patches. You need extra triggers to access them on the fly, but it's cool concept. Not the most intuitive thing to operate, I still haven't spent enough time with it to be fluent in its use. But lots of space to play with and it has a much smaller footprint than the boomerang.

Re: Boomerang Phrase Sampler

I have the original Boss loop station too. It's intuitive enough to plug and play without opening the manual. If you read many of my posts you'll know that, for me, the simpler it is the better. I know there's more to it than what I use it for. I lay down a sample, play it back and jam to it. You can also overdub your sample then play over that. What you're describing the RC20 will handle. The XL, as was said, has more memory. I think it's also cheaper than the Boomerang.
