Alright guys, I've been trying to perfect my clean tone with my Mesa
Mark IV. I'm a huge fan of John Petrucci's Lonestar clean tone, and with my Ibanez in the 2nd position from the bridge pickup on a 5 way switch(I believe that makes it a single coil basically), I love the tone! It's very close to the Lonestar to me, but it's difficult to nail that pickup position in a hurry for live play.
I got an EQ pedal for Christmas, that I was hoping would give me the same clean tone on my bridge pickup, but after a couple of hours of foolin with it, I just couldn't get close enough. So I've been considering purchasing a
Boss AC-2 (Don't need the Reverb option on the AC-3)and have been thinking of running it into my Mark IV.
Any idea how this would sound? I don't have any cool music stores that'll let me buy a pedal and return it if I don't like it, so I wanted to ask before I picked one up on the bay.
I would probably be running it into the front of my amp, because that's how my other pedals are running with my GCX.
Any thoughts?
