Boss DS 1 - Boss Gl-100 - Are they similar in tone?

Have anybody compared these units?, *I'm interested in a preamp that can do the Boss DS1 tone, so I can run it into my Mesa 20/20 amp. *so I was wondering if the gl-100 can do the ds1 tone?
