Old post I know, but worth a reply. I dont know if the sniper mod instructions are out in the public domain, but modding or upgrading the GE-7 is not rocket science, and probably the easiest pedal to mod. Take a look at the opamps that Boss chose to use in their original MIJ GE-7, 3 of them are the old TL022, not very nice at all, see what Texas Instruments have to say about that type... they actually advise on their datasheet that this type of opamp should not be used anymore. So, take heed of TI and try any audio grade dual opamp alternative, also, check out that large paper .056uf cap, double it. The other upgrades that most people do are to replace electrolytic caps with metal film, dont use tantalum. Job done.
