Boss gt-5 and four cable method?

I know that 4 cable method is possible with gt-6 and gt-8, and i think that i have read somewhere that it is possible with GT-5?
Is the method same like with gt-6?

If i would use it this way, could i then use my amps distortion between GTs compressor and wah from the one side, and other effects(delays and mod) after,in the loop..?
Also, how does this affects the initial sound from the amp..?

I am asking this, since i have found to buy one for a nice price, to use it with my rg7620 and Randall..i need a preprogrammed delay patches, and a chorus if possible, and a wah..and a tuner, and a volume pedal..which is very expensive to buy individually..so, could this be useful?

Please answer me as soon as possible, since i need to get some unit very fast, since i have a gig in 2 days, and i hate borrowing from the other people....?

Re: Boss gt-5 and four cable method?

I did something like this with a Boss GT-3 and Peavey practice amp.

Not sure about the GT-5, but the GT-3 has an external loop in it. Basically, plug your guitar into the GT-3, send to the front of your amp, return from the send of your amp's loop, and master out to the return of your amp.

I didn't like it personally. All the attack had disappeared and the amp turned into a mess of noise.
