Re: Boss GT8 vs. Line6 PODxt Live

Well, i dont know about the GT-8 but i can talk about the XT Live, i own it, and i must say, im not 100% happy with it, of course, it has some good features but i dont think is the best effect unit out there. There are many edit possibilities but i havent been able to get good distortion tones, they sound so incredibly skinny and synthetic, but however, the clean sounds are fantastic, thats the only reason why i keep the thing, of course that's me talking, im a big clean effect user, but i know lot of people in here that use distortion 95% of the time so theyll probably feel the same about the distortion patches. So, if you use lots of distortion, dont buy this thing!

Re: Boss GT8 vs. Line6 PODxt Live

I had both and settled on the GT-8.....better sounding and a lot more versitile....and now that an editor has been released....almost even. The only thing that the Line6 had that was sweet over the GT-8 is the USB interface....but for anyone wanting true versitality...the GT-8 is the winner by a long shot

BossGTCentral has an editor (not from Boss) that people are happy with for the GT-8

How about a DigitechGNX4? USB in/out , drumcomputer , 8 track recording , lot's of in and outputs etc....looks like an awesome thing to me.

I bought the GT-8. I like it's amp sims (better than my freinds POD XT Pro), but love the efx.

In the end I'm trying to perfect the 4 cable method so I can revel in my amp's tones with the GT-8's efx.

Re: Boss GT8 vs. Line6 PODxt Live

I got my GT-8 a month ago, and i love this thing. I compared it to the GNX4 and podxt and vox tonelab. Teh GNX4 was nice b/c it had a usb in/out, but all-in-all it sounded very, very digital. The tonelab had a real tube sounding effects processor. The Pod xt was nice, but i found it easier to get better, more natural sounds the GT8, plus it had an expression pedal, and a very helpful bossgtcentral. I use the four cable method through my mesa boogie stiletto trident, and it sounds incredible. I think i made the best decision , and i'm happy.
