The PSM-5 doesn't contain a power supply itself. It is just a power distributor so it all comes down to whether your power supply is big enough to drive the whammy. You connect the power supply to the PSM-5 and through a daisy chain cable you connect several other units to the PSM-5.

A power supply like the Boss PSA adapter is able to give out somewhere around 250mA. This is usually enough to power 5-6 average stompboxes.

thanks SalemB!!! does that mean that all i gotto get is a suitable adapter to power up the PSM5 before powering up the rest of the pedal (boss delay, chorus, wah, eq, whammy)?

what about the Voodoo Lab Power 2? what is the difference between both? thanks!!!!

Yes, that should be enough provided you already have the daisy chain cable to power the other units.

I'm a Boss-nut so I have no clue about the differences between different pedals.

hi SalemB, do you have any volume, whammy or wah pedals powering up a PSM5 before? or had any experience anyone doing so? i was just wondering as alot had been said about the voltage.

also, should the PSM5 run from the input of the amp or at the fx loop?

SalemB, if you don't mind me asking, what pedals do you own and how you chain them up?

I have been powering my crybaby through a PSM-5 without problems. At the same time there was 4 other pedals on the chain.

I prefer to use the PSM-5 in front of the amp rather than through the loop. It depends on what pedals you are using in the PSM-5's loop. Booster pedals and wah's are usually placed in front of the amps driver step.

What pedals do I own?
I have around 40 Boss pedals (it's a disease) and a handful of others. I normally put 6 pedals in a BCB-6 pedalboard. The distortion pedals gets exchanged now and then as I never seem to find what I'm looking for. The other pedals have been in there for quite some time now. Right now it looks like this:

DM-2 PQ-3B DF-2 SD-1 CS-3 NS-2

There is also an LS-2 on the back of the loop that I use to change amps.

old pic of the whole setup here: http://www.bossarea.com/test/rig.jpg

hi SalemB...THANKS!!!! very grateful for your help. i think i'll power it up with the PSM5 infront of the amp as well. i heard getting the delay in the loop will be better, so i think i'm just gonna stick one delay pedal back at the loop. will defintely experiment with it and see what's the best. thanks!!!! by the way, nice poster you've got there!
