BR8 to Cubase - Having trouble recording BR8 to Cubase

Hi all.

I am trying to record the audio off my BR8 onto Cubase 5 Vst32. I am having no trouble slaving Cubase to my BR8. However I am using a Soundblaster Audigy Platinum sound card and I want to go for the digital line out to the digital line in on my computer. Now I know that the audio is being transmitted because I can hear it but Cubase doesn't ecognise it as a recordable input sound.

Any Cubase pro's know what I need to do or even if its possible?

Cheers

BR8 to Cubase

Do you have a Zip drive in your computer? Just download the wav converter from Roland's website, and Cubase should be able to import the standard wav into the program.

If all you're trying to do is get what you recorded on the BR8 into the computer, that's definitely the easiest way of doing it.

BR8 to Cubase

Oh damn, I've got the same setup that you've got, but I haven't had the time to try recording in Cubase...hope I get it right, when I do. Did you try the optical input? Maybe you'll have to configure cubase correctly to scan the right inputs for data...the Audigy mixer is not connected to cubase as far as I know.

BR8 to Cubase

I Haven't played with Cubase in ages so I don't really remember the messages it can display.

Since you are going in digitally (BR8 has digital out?) you might want to check that the outgoing sample rate matches the incoming sample rate.

But since it's already on a ZIP, Might as well save it directly to the HD and import the .wav file in to cubase.

BR8 to Cubase

The zip drive in the computer is definately the right idea. The easiest way to get all 8 tracks seperated. I'd go for that for sure.
