Bugera 6260 w/ matching 412h Cab

I bought the new Guitar world magazine with Metallica on it, I looked at the CD and Paul from GW shows that amp and cab. It sounded amazing. Does anyone have or know anyone who has this amp? is it any good for the $750 price for the head and cab.

The amp is a rip off of a Peavey 5150/6505. The quality will be of the lowest grade, using the cheapest components. You can get a used 5150/6505 for less, and it will be high quality, and sound fantastic, and last a long time... not to mention have a much high resale value should you ever want to sell it.

^ I'd agree. There are some sweet deals to be had on used amps. Good amps too.

Re: Bugera 6260 w/ matching 412h Cab

I took a Bugera 333 combo home from my local store with the understanding that if it had any problems I could return it. It lasted about 15 hours of playing before it suffered some sort of amp related heart attack and died.

When I returned it, the guy in the store told me that most of the Bugera amps they had sold had come back.

My advice is, DO NOT buy a Bugera amp at the moment, their quality control is currently terrible. Go the second hand route for sure. I see plenty of great amps on the bay in the USA for less than $750. Good luck hunting.

Rock on!

Bugera is Behringers attempt at the tube market.
They are trying to market it it to people who may not be able to afford the more expensive tube amps.

While it is admirable that they are attempting to market a less expensive tube amp for people who can't afford Mesa, or ENGL's, they still need to work the kinks out.

The clean channel is actually quite good IF the amp is working

The rest sounds more like a chainsaw and worse than my 100 bucks transistor practise amp.

Re: Bugera 6260 w/ matching 412h Cab

actually,

The 333XL head sounds quite good for metal related things. The crunch sounds are not that good, but in high gain rhythm sounds it sounds pretty good. It has a really saturated, sonic enhancer type of sound. Indeed, quality is not were it should be at the moment. I talked to behringer/bugera and they admitted the first series had some flaws. In general, ppl like to bash amps like this ,so stories of their disfunction might give an exaggerated view of the issues at hand.
Sure all components are cheap, but the sound is actually well worth the price.
Let's hope they get the act together and the metal guitar community might just get an affordable classic.

DO NOT GET A BUGERA. I bought a 333XL combo and the on switch light stopped working after like 2 days. Not to mention everything wiggled on the amp. They sound very thin on the lead channel. It did not sound good enough for the money imho. Buy a used better amp. I think a Peavey VK212 with a couple pedals in front of it would sound better than any bugera. I returned it and bought a used Peavey XXX 212. Much better.

It's Behringer, what do you expect. They are 1/2 a step above chibanez.
