A Legacy for $600AUD is pretty good, add a quad box and it's a bargain, but a bargain you don't like the sound of is a waste of $600.
Try it out for yourself before you buy anything, it's no good getting someone else's dream amp.
You are from Newcastle in N.S.W Australia right? If so, go into Muso's corner and play every amp they have, then go to Billy Hydes down the road and do the same. When you are finished there, check out Music Solutions at Warners Bay. Those stores are all about 20 minutes apart and they sell, among others, Mesa Boogie, Marshall, Fender, Randall, Orange, Laney, Engl, Carvin, Peavey, Egnater and Vox.
Seriously, try every amp you can, and then make your mind up. And don't settle. If the Mesa Triple Rec (for example) is exactly what you want, save, 'cause you will never be truly satisfied with anything else.
I hope my dribble made some sense, good luck in your amp search mate.
Rock on!
