Question

Candy apple red

Hey, I saw candy-apple-or-suede-red-81457.html#post856350]this[/url] thread and it got me thinking about the following; is there a standard formula for the color candy apple red? Meaning that a Fender in that color is exactly the same, color wise, as an Ibanez and a Suhr and so forth? Or does it differ?

Re: Candy apple red

It's all different. Even Fender candy apple reds look different. If you compare a 60's Fender with a new one, you will notice a huge difference.

I like the dark candy apple red Fenders with white pickups, maple neck and a dark rosewood fretboard.

Re: Candy apple red

In general, I would agree that they are all different. However, I have a CA Strat (2006 I think) that is exactly the same shade as my JS1200 when you get them in the same lighting. YMMV.

Re: Candy apple red

Thanks for the replies, guys.

Interesting... I saw a site just now that sells paint. And it said that CAR can be mixed various ways and still be called CAR, as well, so..

Anyway, I love CAR Strats, too. They're just so wonderful...
