Carvin Legacy combo volume fade - Anyone know what causes th

While practicing I noticed a fade in the volume / power of the amp on the distortion channel. *The loss / fade of volume only last a few seconds and then the full sound returns. *After it did it twice I tried my other guitars and it still did it. *Assuming that the cable and the guitars are not malfunctioning could anyone diagnosis this????
Any help would be much appreciated.
Out,
Gregory
PS.: When the volume dropped the distortion did get very gravely and the sound was very thin (no bass).

Open the back and (please take the proper precaution when doing this) reseat the pre-amp tubes (heck if you have the time reseat all of them)

Reseat=take them out and place them snugly back in.

If it still persists, try your amp out in one of the two settings to see which one does it, you could narrow it down to a 'power tube' section. *The switch on the back (50WT/100WT) will turn on a set or the whole section of power tubes. If you notice it only happens in one or both then there may be a dying power tube. I would 'presume' that because its only on the lead channel it could be a pre-amp tube that is causing this glitch.

Try the above out first.

That is exactly what Carvin stated. *Tonight I am going to get some contact cleaner and clean all the input jacks and tube sockets. *Hopefully that works. *I doubt the tubes went bad. *They are only one year old or there about and I only play about 10 hours a week.

Careful in assuming that the tubes 'didn't' go bad just because they are a year old. *Tubes like any other manufactured electronic item have faults as well. *Tubes though as tough as they are can have a short life. *Though this isn't the norm you should try that first.

As for the contact cleaner, I'd recommend using a compressed air cannister and a soft cloth rag to clean the tube ends off. You want to keep cleaners (even the ones that evaporate {alcohol based}) away from sockets. *It won't hurt them, but the less you use at first the better.

Good Luck.
