Carvin Legacy II

Well I think we all knew it was coming in NAMM and now its been confirmed by the man himself on his news page.

Is it likely to be a re-badged V3? is it going to be a legacy with an extra channel?

I quite like my legacy, if it had a third higher gain channel it would be great. I could lose the reverb happily (even though its quite good) and maybe gain some midi switchability and a power soak function to make it a bit more useable at home or in rehearsal

anyone got any preview info on this? It could be interesting.

Steve

Re: Carvin Legacy II

I'm happy with my legacy. It seems like usually though when new versions of amps come out, people end up saying "the old one was better." But if Vai likes it then it cant be bad lol

Re: Carvin Legacy II

Maybe the first ones will then get cheaper like the first Stilettos did when II came out. Then I can get like 2 more backups haha

Re: Carvin Legacy II

Here is some limited info I know...

Ben Fargen, of Fargen amplification helped Steve and Carvin with the amp.

It is a Three Channel amp.

That's all I know.... I have owned a Fargen amp and it was a magical sounding amp. Incredible clean tones... Can't wait to see and hear this amp!

Re: Carvin Legacy II

At first I didn't think that was a prototype. But now I do. I think the finished model is right under our nose. I think it is at the top of the the three heads stacked in the Jemini demo.

Re: Carvin Legacy II

Take the 11 original knobs, add the 3 that are black in that pic, you get the 14 seen here. I imagine the on/off switch and stand by switch are on the back like the 5150 III.

Re: Carvin Legacy II

There has been alot of a debate if vai still uses the bogner as he used to use them before the carvin endorsement .... the jemini clip proves he still has them hanging around ....... check the g3 vai satriani and eric johnson clips of vai using the bogner ......

Re: Carvin Legacy II

Did the original Legacy roll out with the head and combo or did the head come first and combo later on?
