Re: carvin legacy question

i've heard the legacy doesnt have very good distortion but do you think its enough to play like paul gilbert and satch stuff, along with vai stuff?

Re: carvin legacy question

I think it covers that stuff okay. A boost pedal would really help though.

I don't know who the hell told you that, but I'd question their opinions.

Re: carvin legacy question

I've heard it lacks balls, and Paul Gilbert's tone is very, very ballsy.

Only with a rack set up, etc.

I tried out the combo and was HIGHLY disapointed with the dirty channel. The clean chanell was sweet though .

I returned it for a refund and went back to the trusty old Marshall

From you, and if it was as lacking as you said, then there's no way in hell it will tackle the Gilbert tone. Ever.

Re: carvin legacy question

True true!!

I've even ran a keeley modded DS-1 through it and it still sucked.

Now - before I get flammed, this is IMHO, and I am entitled to that

Re: carvin legacy question

Try the new Peavey Valveking. I actually dig it more than the 5150/6505s.

Re: carvin legacy question

Yeah, or try out the Mesa's.

If you have enough $ Cornfords are beyond sweet and of course there's Bogner
