Carvin Legacy soundclips, please!

Hey guys!
In my seemingly neverending quest for a good amp, i've read a lot of good about the Carvin Legacy. I'm absolutely in love with Steve Vai's lead tone, which i've heard the Legacy can deliver with a DS-1. But i've heard very many contrasting opinions on whether the rhythm tone is any good for metal. I'd really like to hear some clips of the Legacy doing some heavy rhythm work, even if it takes a pedal to get it into brutal territory. I play rhythm and lead in a heavy prog metal band {think Dream Theater with some Meshuggah and old In Flames thrown in}. I love Petrucci's rhythm tone, but i need something a little more aggressive than that.
Please post any soundclips!
Thanks

The Carvin webiste had a demo of Steve playing the Legacy with only some echo added to it. I played the Legacy once at a Carvin store, and i thought it sounded very good, specially the clean channel... the lead channel will need to be overdriven to get that heavy metal sound. Steve uses a DS-1 to boost it but i think its a modded one. Either way you have to go and try it out yourself to really be able to judge it... and also try different kinds of overdrive/distortion pedals with it not just a DS-1 (i personally didnt try any pedals with it). hope this helps.

its very nice *sparkling* sound will leave you wanting more.

For a heavey distortion sound (as mentioned above), the legacy will leave you needing more. That's easily fixed with a nice distortion pedal.

Jupiter, this has been said before in other threads but even if a member here posted some great sounding Legacy clips there is still another dimension to the equation. The way the amp reacts to your pick attack and the decay of the notes will be intrinsic to your unique style of playing. Any posted sound clips will entirely lack the dynamic interaction between you and the amp. A good analogy might be seeing an attractive woman that becomes an immediate turn off the second the two of you begin speaking where as this may not be the case with the same woman and someone else. If I could give you any advice, spend some time with the Legacy first hand to see how it suits you.

The difference will be fairly negligible with very high amounts of gain, which is the context he would be using it in.
