I really dig whats goin on in my rig right now. Based off a early 90's
Mesa Dual Caliber 50 watt head. I got a Sennheiser G2 wireless, and the G-Major and BBE are run 100% in the effects loop.
The great thing about the G-Major is how it can switch amp channels. I control it with the Rocktron MidiMate seen on the pedalboard. So I can now select what effect is on or bypassed while switching from clean to dirt or vise versa.
What's great about my pedalboard is it's solidly built. Everything securely rip-tied onto the wooden frame inside the hardshell casing. The only thing I don't like are the skull and crossbones you can see if you look closely. But I had to go with functionaility over appearence as well as price.
Obviously I also got the Boss TU-2,CS-3,OC-2(i like better then oc-3) and AC-2. The wah is a Dunlop GCB-95Q. Which is spring loaded. I use to perfer the switchable ones, but after playing live numerous times with both, its much funner using an auto-return type of wah. I dont have to worry about weather I switched it on or off which jumping around in madness.
The case was custom made for the other guitarist in my band. He sold it to me for 200$ in great condition. He payed 3 times that to have it made. It will fit any size head as it originally was built to fit his Triple Rec. I stuck some extra foam in there since the DC-5 is a smaller head width wise.
Most head/rack combo's have the rack centered, with 2 small storage spaces on each side. He made a wise move in having the rack pushed over, making a much larger storage space to the right. I have all my cables rip-tied as well in the back of the rack. Most things are never disconnected, as well as central power from the Furman unit.
My setup and breakdowns are usually pretty quick. Sometimes quicker then people who have just a head and cab. Of course I already planned it out and move quickly because no one wants to sit and watch someone tear down their gear.
Once everything is where it should be. I plug in my rack's power. Plug my pedalboard into the back of the Furman.Plug the MidiMate into the G-Major. And run the 2 cables which run my wireless straight to the TU-2, and returns to the input on the head.
All the effects which should be in the front of my amp, are in front of the amp. All effects which are good in a loop, are in my loop. Ya know. Reverbs, Delays, Phaser, Flanger etc etc.
And the G-Major is quailty. Transparent when bypassed, effects are studio quailty. Great unit for the money. The BBE makes everything sound HUGE. If you haven't tried one of those and you like distortion, please do yourself a favor. They aren't for everyone, but many people they are for don't know it exists!
Now live and at band practice I'm using my other guitarists spare Standard Recto Slant 4x12. But at home, I use my <gasp!> BEHRINGER BG412S!!!
Hahaha. I hate to say it but its actually not a bad cab!! It's definetly not a Boogie or even Marshall but it's great for the money I paid! As my 1st 4X12 I was happy knowing I didnt care if it went down a flight of stairs!! But now, Im ready to own my own Boogie. So about a week ago I put in a custom order for a Standard Recto Straight sides, Slanted baffle, 4x12 is HOT WHITE BRONCO. Yeeeeaa! This is a Slanted Standard in the same vinyl-

How sick is that!? Know what sucks? I gotta wait 6 to 8 WEEKS!! Ahh! Oh well it will be most excellent when it does come. I dont mind the wait. But here's the fun part, because I work for GC, they give GC employees 40% off Boogie gear, which is usually non-discountable for any dealer! And in any color vinyl for NO up-charge! Im paying 540$ bucks for a cab which usually would go for 1,050$ plus tax!! Schweet!
Let me know what ya'll think.
