Check Out These Pedalboards! - (For Pedalheads Only)

I just got my new custom pedalboard / roadcase from NGM Pedalboards. They're a small U.S. company and they do awesome work. http://www.austintx.net/dexter/ngm/

I got the standard 30" model and it has loads of room for my gear. It holds a Bad Horsie, *Little Alligator, Boss tuner pedal, Rat, Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive, and a Microvibe on the lower level. The top level - 14"x 7"- holds a Line6 MM4 Modulaton pedal and a Boss DD5 digital delay. They also threw in a narrow top level - 15"x 4" - mounted behind the wah and volume pedals to hold the channel switching pedals for my amps. It has room under the top level for my Pedal Power unit.

I'm not getting anything for posting this. I was just so frustrated wasting 30 minutes or more setting up and tearing down my rig after each gig or practice. I tried attaching them to a big plank of plywood, but couldn't find a custom roadcase to hold the sucker for under $400.00. (The thing was as big as the tailgate on my Dodge!) *

I shopped around for at least 6 mos. for a pro quality setup, but found nothing but schlock. I happened to see a used NGM on eek-bay that included a link to their website and I was in stomp-heaven!

Anyways, sorry for ramblin' on, but I just had to share this with y'all.

Peace and Happy Holidays!
Scott

Ok, I give up, I searched their website, and all I found was $50 off of the standard board right now, $20 for the wah plate $15 for the velcro, so how much is the actual standard board? *they look great, just curious as to how much money

$275.00 + 30.00 for UPS oversize shipping = $305.00
( I got mine back in October before the $50.00 Xmas special )

If you're using Morley pedals, don't order the wah plate. Just peel off the little rubber stick-on feet and you're ready for velcro. The wah plate has holes stamped into the corners to allow Vox and Dunlop style pedals to sit flat in the middle of the plate. You can attach velcro to the plate & the pedal. The feet that hold the pedal together won't get in the way.

I thought I'd need a plate for my Rat ,but I just pulled the screws out of the rubber bushings and put the bushings back in the box in case I need them later.

Boss pedals work best with the rubber bottom removed. Apply the velcro right to the metal bottom plate. Just keep the rubber in the box the pedal came in. You'll have it if you need to slap it back on later.

Wow... uh... I said rubber...4 times... *:rotf:

The Furman is a great pedalboard, but it doesn't come with a roadcase. I priced custom cases for my old board at $250.00 to $300.00. Used cases on eew-bay are $150.00 - $200.00 IF you can find one to fit. With the NGM, the bottom of the roadcase is your pedalboard platform. All I have to do is set it on stage, remove the lid and connect the first and last pedals in the chain to my amps and wireless system.

The Furman comes with more or less a padded gig-bag. The case on the NGM is made from laminate covered plywood with an aluminum frame and steel corners and butterfly latches, ala Anvil or Calzone. It's a heavy duty roadcase, but not quite an ATA flightcase. If a Marshall 4x12 falls on it during transport, your pedals and gear are protected from damage.

Don't read me wrong here, I'm not bashing Furman. They make excellent products. Their board was too small and not protected enough to fit my needs.

If I was wealthy enough to afford both, I'd probably have the Furman in my studio where I don't use as many pedals and it wouldn't be subject to road abuse.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah and Ramma Lamma Ding Dong to all at Jemsite!

Make a Joyful Noise! *arty:
