Choices Choices Choices.....
Hey guys, Ive been through a bunch of guitars lately and I'm in a pickle about what to do. Right now I have an Ibanez prestige(rga321f) worth 1000$ that I can return, and an amp(bugera 333xl 323 combo) thats worth 700$(returnable). Now, I tried out a used Peavey XXX 212 combo yesterday and it sounded amazing. It was 900$. However, I do not have the extra 200$. Should I sell my prestige and get like an 800 dollar guitar or what? Thanks!

Hahaha, read the message. FIRST OFF, I can get 1000$ for the guitar. They go for 1500 brand new, and I bought this one for 1000$, and I can still return it. READ THE MESSAGE!

Re: Choices Choices Choices.....
I'd say shop around a bit. Try a JCX since I do believe the 333XL is based off that.

Keep the 321 (awesome axe), return the bug-****-a and save up for a real peavey.

"real Peavey" sounds sorta like "real K-Mart".

Re: Choices Choices Choices.....
I don't know, I'm not a fan of Peavey amps. If there was one commercially available amp at GC that I would get, it'd be the Marshall Vintage Modern. Granted, it's $400 more, but it'd be worth saving for.
Actually, if I were you, I'd try to earn some cash and live out with a cheap
practice amp
for now until you can get something really nice.
IMO, a good strategy for you would be to sell everything you have, get a good used RG550 for $400, and spend the rest on an amp.

Re: Choices Choices Choices.....
Thats what I'm thinking of man. I'm thinking a MIJ 470 hardtail with dimarzios and that would give me 1300 for an amp
What amp should I get if I did that?(replied to your PM)

Great amp
As much as I love the XXX, the Screamer would be much more versatile. XXX is great for metal, but the Screamer has 4 good channels and is good for clean, blues and metal. I want one myself!!!
If you get one, make sure you get the Z5 footswitch to operate all four channels
Other than that. If you like the XXX, then you'll love the JSX

Re: Choices Choices Choices.....
ENGLs are kickass. The
Ritchie Blackmore
sig and the Powerball that I played last August were phenomenal. I would expect the same deliverance from the Screamer.

Shameless plug - I'm selling a mint 100W head in the classifieds here.

Re: Choices Choices Choices.....
Keep the guitar.
Return the crappy amp.
Look around for used Carvin V3 combos, ENGL Fireball/Powerballs etc. and try before you buy.
