Choosing a cab for my JTM 45 Reissue.

Just got a JTM 45 Reissue. *Now I need the cab. *Must have 4x12 vintage 30's and preferrably a straight cab. *I could really use some help here because I am not aware of everything out there. *Money is factor, and I am definately looking at the used market. *I don't really wan't to go much higher than $400. *I know Marshall, Mesa, Bogner, and Carvin make what I want...any advice?

Check out Tantrum Custom Cabinets. *Dave's a very cool guy and makes high-quality custom cabs. *Oh yeah, a JEM nut too. *LOL

He's bringing a few of his cabs to Jemfest 2001 in Orlando! *Demo anyone?

Ahhh...JTM-45....

I have one of them sparkling clean gems..

I used to be really finicky and run it through the Marshall slant TV cabinet (vintage celestions 30) and it had that real vintage look going, sold that and then bought the Marshall 2X12 (swapped the 70 W celestions for celestion greenback 30s)...that works for me. *I don't play out live or record at high volumes so I didn't the 4X12 configuration..and the 2X12 gave me a lot of presence in the mid range (which is what the JTM lacks in my opinion..everything comes out sparkly have you noticed) *Another place to check out is Carvin. You can switch the speakers for a small price and they generally sound pretty decent to very good. *They are a good bang for the buck if you want new.

I had one, but it's gone. *I traded for a Fender strat. *If I remember new it cost about $700. *You should have some luck finding one for ~ $400. *The Marshall 1960AV is a sweet cabinet.

Looks like I'll have to make plans to sell the JTM before it even gets here. *A computer fried on my car and that will cost a fortune to replace. *I told everyone I would rather have an amp than have a car, but that is frowned upon in the non-musician realm.
