Companies that make the best of everything
Just thought i'd make a thread with different inputs here ..
what companies in your opinion offer the best of EVERYTHING For example..
Fender guitars ...pretty good
Fender Amps...amazing
Fender pickups .. amazing (especially custom shop ones)
Fender pedals .. niceee
Gibson guitars ..awesome
Gibson pickups..decent
gibson amps... questionable
ibanez makes the best guitars and pedals, but pickup wise i've heard much better
what do you guys think?

Hmm? Dimarzio/EMG/Seymour duncan, 3 of the best names in the biz and all found in high end Ibanez. Strange comment on your behalf, what model Ibanez did you come to that conclusion with?

I meant Ibanez BRAND pickups. Dimarzio/EMG/SD are amazing .. I was refering to Ibanez INF1 and INF2 "mudbuckers" that came in my Saber and RG.

HA! I like that, mudbuckers, I'm going to use that one........
To be honest dude, the lower end Fenders and lower end Gibsons i.e. Epiphone don't come with good pickups - it's all about what you pay for.
Yes the lower end Ibanez's don't come with good pickups, but all of the top of the line models come with Dimarzio's, which totally rock in my opinion. But bar that, even if you get an RG with INF's, if you replaced them with good pickups you would still have more money in your pocket than if you bought a Fender or Gibson, plus it plays a ton better....
That said, what opinion did you think you would get on a forum dedicated to Ibanez guitars !!!!

Re: Companies that make the best of everything
actually Ibanez pioneered multi effects units (UE300)
and their flagship amp (Thermion) got good reviews as well,
lastly nobody ever complained about the Ibz USA pickups (F1, F2 etc.)

What about Line 6 for versatilty?
You can't get a wider range of tones than a Variax and a Spider.
Just food for thought.

Re: Companies that make the best of everything
The current era Ibanez pups were all "designed" by DiMarzio, and built who knows where.
However, if you are talking about back in the day, check what a pair of Super 70s humbuckers bring.

Re: Companies that make the best of everything
I don't think one company makes the best of anything, I think it's all personal preference when you get to a certain level.
Is a Suhr better than a Tom Anderson or a James Tyler? Are those actually any better than a J-custom.
Is an original Matchless better than a Line 6 Spider? How about when you'll only ever use it for practicing thrash metal in your bedroom?
(for those who haven't guessed, these are rhetorical questions
)
You just have to find something that you like within your budget and be confident in yourself that you made the right choice for you.

Might be my bad luck but all Epiphone's I've played have had faulty wiring so I can say they're pickups suck big time, I can't really have good comments for a product with pickups that break after a few weeks. They don't sound good either...

Re: Companies that make the best of everything
Lots of people make nice great guitars. Lots of people make great pickups.... I'd be prepared to bet the a set of Fender singles would sound pretty crappy in a LP though.
Lots of people make great vehicles too (or used to). What do you want though? If you're in the market for a school bus, the best sub-compact in the world isn't going to be your thing ..... and is therefore a pile of crap.
If there is any point to the above, it's that this thread is never going to reach a mutual conclusion. Horse, flog, dead.

And the 2471 definitely holds its own with the Gibson

Re: Companies that make the best of everything
Far too many companies use custom pickup makers such as EMG, Dimarzio Etc so i think it's a bit hard to include that in evaluation. But going on just guitars and amps i would say in my mind Framus and Carvin do the best jobs for my taste in music. And PRS now have their own line of amps, can't wait to try one out and see where they might take that product line.....
