Compressor in signal chain

Are most people who use a compressor (using with overdrive) putting it before their main overdrive pedal or directly after it?

Keeley say to try their compressor after overdrive, rather than before. Its whatever sounds right with your rig, there are no rules.

just to clear my confusion. I always get this, whats considered first in the chain, from the guitar end or from the amp end??

First is from the guitar end. Last is the last pedal before your amp.
