Connecting a head to a combo?

I have a Carvin Legacy and was wondering if it would be possible to connect an amp head to the speakers by simply unplugging them from the Legacy preamp and plugging them into the amp heads speaker input ? If this sounds really weird it's because I don't really know anything so please let me know if it's possible.

yes... the combo is nothing more than a head and built in cabinet

i do it from my nomad (1x12 combo) out to my marshall 2x12 (combo)... but ensure that the amp output is set to the proper ohms for the cabinet. there is alot of discussion about this on the forum ...glen

The Carvin Legacy is the Combo right?

Your description is a little confusing so I want to make sure we know what your talking about. What your saying is you want to take another amp that you have in head form, and use the Legacy combo's built in speakers by unplugging the speaker cable from the Legacy's speaker out jacks and plugging that same speaker cable into the other amps speaker outs? Right?

In that case jemsite is right. You can do it just make sure you set the ohms right on the head. I believe the Legacy combo is 8ohms but Im not sure. You can check.

Make sure the combo is turned off.
