Crossroads again

So this has probably been asked since Jemsite started, but I have just the basic questions about how Steve got his tone and such. OK, So he used the Green Meanie (before it was green), but what else was going on there? I know I've read it somewhere, he had a wah and other various effects though he didn't use them. What kind of amp did he use? Whatever they used, it made even the little single coil on the tele sound mean. And an even better question, does anybody know where I could find the entire tab for the whole thing? I mean from the very beginning (Eugene's trick bag), to the head cutting duel, to the paganini solo. The whole enchilada. It would be cool if me and a friend could learn both of the parts in the duel and perform it some time! I just couldn't bear to throw my guitar afterwards though, Vai could throw his, but I have a pretty personal relationship with my axes. I could bring myself to break the string trying to get the last note though. Hehe, as if Vai really couldn't get that last note...they had to fix it to where he would mess that one up...I mean, he's Vai, he could play that solo in his sleep...with his toes!

using Paf Pro humbuckers from Dimarzio. Amp was a Carvin X-100B. And I don't believe he used a tele for any of the recording parts for Ralph's guitar work

If you use a program called Powertab, there is tab for most of the piece, more than other tab I have seen online. The actual note trading part is quite easy to figure out by ear.

I think (someone can correct me) that Steve on the Korean Firegarden video concert performs the duel with Mike Keneally, so you might be able to watch their fingers. Or their toes.

I really don't need any encouragement, but look at the last sentence of the original post.

"IT WAS HIM WHAT STARTED IT SIR."

Cracked soles are never funny. You should always use a pumice stone.

you ain't kidding, petie. I walk 6 or so miles a day in "good" shoes, on the way to the train station and metro staiton and so forth- my feet are on ebig callous.

On the bright side, the walking on coals bit at the trust-building teamwork clinic was a peice of cake.
