Dallas Guitar Show report

Not sure where this post fits? *Oh, well...

Nothing like a guitar show to make 4+ hours fly by! *Thought I'd post a couple highlights:

- PODS and Korg Pandoras at the demo booths (EB/MM, Gibson, etc)...nice idea
- The Boss/Roland booth & the new wah
- New pedal boards on the market...and this thing called the Enhancer (ported box amp stand)
- Reverend guitars & amps...different & cool
- Talking with Joe of Nine Volt Nirvanha Effects
- Talking with the German luthier that makes Morgaine guitars
- Hearing and talking with Will Ray (Hellecasters)
- Last but certainly not least...the Ibanez booth! *Got to play the new RGT, Satriani hardtail, & JEM

Greg:
Please supply details on the RGT 3120. *I would greatly appreciate it. *Which color was it? *How did the neck feel compared to a 7VWH. *Thank you in advance.

Wow... amazing that there are ANY highlights from Guitar Shows these days. *The Houston one last year bit the big one totally. *The one in Austin was as crappy as a rear sludgy mishap in my undies.

Don't know what the deal is but I haven't seen a good guitar show in about 4 years.

Timon--Kenny's all over it...seemed like a cool piece, but with heaphones and no crybaby, etc. for comparison, it was hard to tell. *It's loaded with several wah presets AND distortion/overdrives. *The new dual distortion pedal is nice too.

pri0531- the RGTs are beauties. *They had the dark brown & purple ones. *Quality/fit&finish seemed top notch. *The neck is the Ultra...bigger and rounder in the back than the JEM neck. *I'm kinda used to it with my TX Prestige. *Chunkier tone that you'd expect from a mahogany body. *The neck is glossy...I suppose one could take steel wool to it and make it satin if that was a problem. I also loved the tone of the new Satriani (even though an Ibanez SS amp *

Gabe- I had a blast at this show...great opportunity to check out a mess of gear & chat with a few people (mini-NAMM). *I missed Andy Timmons' performance this time, but last year saw Phil Keaggy. *I've also enjoyed the Arlington show, which was more vintage stuff (and junk too), but worth my while. *Not sure what's up with the shows down yonder--maybe I just don't get out enough.
