Thumbs up

Damage control Solid Metal review... WOW!

I just recieved my new distortion pedal!!!!

A Damage Control Solid Metal, with 2 tubes!!

I already had a Hughes & Kettner Tube Factor that is quite nice...

So I had the time to try the DC plugged into my Hughes & Kettner (yes I'm a fan) Tube Edition 20W tube combo....

All I have to say is GREAT!!!!

Here is what I like about the sound of the DC:

- Perfect bypass (like the H&K pedal)... your clean tone remains exactly the same than direct...
- Very easy to get some very usable sounds, from hard rock to Nu-metal fury!!
- Enough amount of gain fro all metal styles!

The sound remains extremely clear, even at the max settings... My 9th progressive chords (a la Petrucci) remain very clear and articulate... Heavy bottom end. As for the middles, you can go from Santana like mid boost leads, to really scooped tones....

The type of the grain, I like it even if sometime depending of the settings it can be a little bit fuzzy... definitively more Mesa than Marshall...
I can have this marshall tone (but better) withe the Tube factor....

The DC is mostly for high gain settings... you can't really have a great overdrive sound with it. Again, that's more for the H&K pedal...

In conclusion a great distortion pedal, the best I have ever used!!!!!
I recommend it to anybody!

Do I detect an ulterior motive for the glowing review?

Only joking, it sounds like a great pedal. Looks pretty cool too!

Silly Wild child

No really not... May be I'll put it for sale elsewhere...

I'm just amazed by the pedal, and really happy because these pedals are quite expensive! I had high expectations based on the review I've read and I must say that it is way above my expectations....

Sound way better than the sound clips on the website!
