Deadly Combination - Pod Pro and THD Univalve

Fellas (and gals),

Just had to drop a line on this killer combination for guitar tones. *I'm in the middle of relocation, so due to living circumstances can't run the THD Uni into a cab right now. *Anyway, I've got the Univalve's line out running directly into the guitar input of the Pod Pro which I use for delay/chorus/compressor effects. *The POD runs through a Roland digital recorder and out to stereo speakers via a QSC Solid State amp.

Anyway, the two (Pod Pro and Univalve) are deadly together. *I can't get over how tube responsiveness doesn't seem lost at all running into the POD as an instrument level signal. *I guess it's just the best of both worlds type thing for now. *I have to say, these are two products that surpassed my expectations.

I plugged my POD into the power amp stage of my Rivera TBR-1SL. Same result… Great tone. I don’t much care for the sound of the POD patched direct for recording, but through a tube amp and some good cabs it really comes to life. I was always afraid to try it the other way around, direct out of amp into the POD. I figured line level may be too hot for the POD. (I don’t read manuals) Guess I’ll have to try it. It may be a direct recording option I like.

Bob,

How the hell are you?? *This only works with the THD Univalve because it has a instrument level output and a built in power-soak (so you don't need any speaker output attached at all). *I didn't want the responsibility of blowing out your POD or Riviera!!

Bob,

The POD Pro has a Line Level input as well. *This probably wouldn't work as well with the bean version.

And Johncowan, Bob is running his POD into the power amp in of his Rivera... the opposite of what you're saying. *

Thanks DS,

Good point, if you have a line out on the Riviera that's instrument level go for it.
