delay pedal and timings of songs etc

my friend and i are starting to experiment with shredding and drum n bass music. drum n bass for those that don't know is electronic music based on fast and intense drum beats with lots of breaks and syncopation and deep, hard bass.

we got inspired after watching paul gilbert in this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CpJNUGHxC3M

i'm interested in maybe getting a loop pedal of some kind like gilbert uses in the start of the video. i think it could work very well in combination with DnB.

i've been looking at the boss DD6-6s or whatever they are and that whole range of pedals. what i wanna know is, say you're playing along to a DnB song at 150bpm and you record a 2 bar riff that is exactly in time and "hold" it with the pedal. if you set it to repeat, and the DnB song temp doesn't change will it keep repeating in time with the song?

i'm looking to use a loop pedal a poor man's synth sort of; playing short, fast riffs then repeating them via loop pedal but i don't know if it's possible to keep it in time with the song.

any help appreciated.

Definitely check out the Digitech Hardwire DL-8 Delay/Looper. Has great delay effects, and the looper is great too. 20 sec loops should be more than enough for your two bar licks/riffs.

My review here: http://lonephantom.wordpress.com/200...looper-review/

Yep if you got it the way you like it, the delay pedal should in theory play it over and over in a loop forever, or untill the electricity stops...

Either you play your riff to the drum beat, and hope that you can loop it in the right timing, or do the opposite and you play the riff and the drum and bass guy will adjust the tempo to match the riff..

eitherway you got some experimenting to do

enjoy

Look into the Line6 range of loopers and delays. I found them to be quite usefull and now have them combined in my M13.
