i got excited ordering my SZ from AMS and slapped a digitech rp250 on it last min, it was really a whim to be honest, it seems it should be decent, considering my situation, i live in an apartment, i have a 15 watt practice ibanez tone blaster, i use headphones half the time on it anyways

my logic was to be able to have some USB recording ability which will be nice to have and some different sounds, even if they are not the absolute best it should be nicer than a just a clean and distortion channel, and even thats not all that great... but with the headphones and going right into the computer shouldnt get me evicted, buying a bigger louder amp with more on it would just get me evicted probably

is it somewhat alright or was i probably stupid in ordering it? ill have to play with it when it gets here, AMS has a pretty good return policy so I know I can always ship it back if needbe for something else or money back

I've just got an RP350 and it's frikin' ace !
The factory presets are complete pish though so make sure don't judge it until you done some editing. The manual isn't much kop either so I would advise aproaching it as if you had a room full of amps, cabs and effects pedals.....For example, You walk into the room, plug into the Soldano SLO100 and hook that up to the Marshal 4x12 equiped with Celestions. Then you might fancy sticking an 808 in front of it coupled with the Vox wah. Go back to the amp and tweak the gain/EQ, tweak the pedals and off you go !!

It's like tone porn !

In your case, small apartment, play in headphones, want something with USB, and you don't seem to be looking for the best of the best, meaning you know what your getting in the RP250. I think its a safe buy. Try it it sounds like its just what you need. It looks like a nice little pedal!

EDIT: It has a drum machine built in, that's a nice practice tool !

we shall see, fed ex is dragging ass and saying its gonna be thursday as a targeted delivery date grrr.... i hope thats not the case and this stuff gets here sooner

i really think this lil pedals gonna be decent after all, alot of user sound samples on thier forum and folks say that you have to play with the so called preset sounds some to get it just right, i guess they just sort of get you in the ballpark with the various sample settings and then you can tweak it accordingly, theres some very good examples people have created, im pretty stoked, new guitar day is about as fun as new gun day ;) yea I used to collect those too, stupid silly ol communist guns that were cheap and plentiful, its a good thing I dont do that no more hehe

got it today with the SZ, it didnt dissapoint, I have yet to really get acquainted with it but so far Im very impressed with this lil box, its nice to have a huge range of sounds over what I had before which was nada, im looking foward to checking this USB part of it out and seeing what else it can do for me, all I have done is play it stand alone straight out of the box, with headphones and the guitar, im definately not going to get evicted going that route, its just loud enough to be enjoyable in the headphones and that I like, theres a amp out and mixer out button on the back of it, if you select mixer its sounds great, the amp one makes the vol too loud and it distorts it too much, they are not the best headphones either.... :( ill get some better ones that are more studio quality like for this type of application

cheers all
