Disconnecting a reverb tank

Hello. I own a Laney LC50II with an accutronics spring reverb tank. When I mic and record the amp at high volumes, the spring reverb tank vibrates and rattles can be heard on the recording. I was wondering if it's safe to disconnect the reverb tank from the signal flow of the amp. I was also thinking of using a pedal reverb (like the holy grail reverb) instead of the reverb tank. Any help or suggestions would be great.

Thanks
