Downgrading? - Help Me Find Logic

Ok, I was sitting here watching a video I downloaded of P.O.D. playing "Alive" on Leno and noticed something:

First album (as far as I know) was recorded through a Pod (haha).

Music videos from second album ("Alive", "Youth of the Nation") show him using Mesa's.

"Alive" on Leno, shows him using Crate...

Explain this to me, if you can.

See, the Mesa's I understood, since that's the sound he used on the Pod, and recorded the album with. *It's the Crates I don't understand...

What's there to understand? The Blue Voodoos aren't bad, for a Crate. the 60 sucks, but the 120 is a decent sounding amp.

It's the resale value I'd be worried about with a Crate. *Crate doesn't hold value like a marshall or a Mesa does. That's something to keep in mind.

Was the sound good from the Crates? *I mean, if it sounds good, what's the difference? But I know what you mean. Seems weird to go from Mesa's to a Crates. lol
I doubt P.O.D. are worrying about resale values haha

It's Leno! He flew in from whereever an hour before taping the show with his guitar in his hand and whatever they happened to have on stage to plug into, then flew out again an hour after the last take to whereever it was they were playing the next night... :loco:

That could be...but it was a rather large pile of Crates. *lol

I dunno, I thought his tone was ok on the album, but crappy live. *Too muddy. *

Every performance I've ever seen on Leno the band brought their own gear.

Crate has little to say about their company, they probably offered the guy a better deal than mesa just so they could get a "name" to help back their company.
