I'm looking for some advice, deciding between a Boogie
Express 5:50 or a Boogie RectOVerb.
The gist - I've played Dual Rec halfstacks and loved them for their modern grunt; where I live currently (Shanghai) I don't have access to either of the two combos, but am about to order one to be delivered. Haven't played either. I've seen good reviews for both. As I said I love the modern rock grunt of the Recs, but that is not all I play (+ blues, clean pop), thus am looking for a good all-round combo. How would you contrast/compare the Express 5:50 against the Rectoverb? How are they as all around amps (not just modern gain)? The 5:50 has the 5watt Class A option, which would be ideal for playing at smaller venues/home; the Recto can be biased for either 6L6/EL34... other than these two features I'm not sure how they compare tone/playing-wise. Any and all input (or links to reviews) appreciated!
