Re: EB vol ped...

Yes it will. I use it as an exp on my line6 pod and it works perfectly. 250k will be the one you want. And you will want to wire it using a 2 mono to single stereo jack cable. Connect the 2 monos to the pedal and the stereo to the EXP jack. If it works opposite of how it switch the 2 monos.

the 25k is suitable for guitars with active pickups like EMGs or SD Livewires or any other pickups that use 25k volume and tone pots on the guitar itself.

Re: EB vol ped...

thanx for the replies guys...

I might get an eb later down in the track.. for now i went with the boss FV300L to use it as an expression pedal.. but i'm still having problems connecting it up..

here's the deal..

I was reading ther Manual, and it says "to use as expression pedal, get the optional PCS-33 stereo phone cable"... I just got a UXL stereo-stereo cable... which should work? or am i wrong?...

the GFC50 is connected to my Gmajor via midi... (obviously)... i'm trying to hook up the fv300l to the gfc 50... i connect it to EXP1(on the gfc50) to the Exp1OUT (on the fv300l) but im getting no progress...

The pedal works fine, cuz i connected it via the fx loop as a volume pedal...

need your help

Re: EB vol ped...

Basically in order to get a volume pedal to act as an exp pedal you will want to use is as a Controlled Voltage pedal. In essence when the pedal is heel down it should send a CV message to the host of 0 and when it is toe down it should send a message of 127. Only drawback is that is is always on unless your host unit has a Exp on/off button or switch. In order to connect the pedal as a cv you will want a cable that is stereo TRS on one end and 2 mono plugs TS on the other. Connect the mono plug that goes to the TIP into the OUT jack and the other mono plug that goes to RING into the IN jack of the volume pedal. This setup should work fine. If it isn't then make sure that the EXP function is turned on and if there is an EXP edit page then you should be able to see the value go between 0 and 127 as you move the pedal. Again make sure you only use the IN and OUT jack as a Tuner or Dry jack will not send CV and make sure the EXP function of the Host is on. Any volume pedal should work in this setup. And as for the 25 ohm question remember that this is not being used as a voume but as a cv and active 25 ohm pots do not register 0-127 as a 250 does. I hope this little primer was helpful. If you are still having problems i will check back and answer them as i can. Joshua

Joshua..,

Thank you very much for your reply... that really helps

i didnt realise i needed a 2mono-stereo jack, so instead i got a stereo-stereo jack.. i'm abit p'ed off that my guitar store didnt stop me and say "hey, you got the wrong cable"... they shoulda known... anyway.. I'll have to go back down there and get myself a Two mono to One stereo chord

thanks again joshua, once i get the chord, ill see if it works

Re: EB vol ped...

Not a problem. The FV500 series is supposed to work with a stereo to stereo cable too. Probably an internal wiring thing. But to be honest the one time i did work with a FV series i found it easier to use the y cable anyways. Let me know how it works and i will keep searching for the right solution. Peace.

Re: EB vol ped...

Gotcha. Yeah the 500L does allow for a stereo cable EXP function but not the 300L. Use the y cable on either in and out 1 or in and out 2 as long as they match. Do not use the tuner out and of course remember that adjusting the minimum value knob will make it so that the CV won't hit the value of 0. And yes the guitar store should have told you these things before you walked out. Hope you are happily pedalling by now. Let us know how it goes.
