Ebow Plus

Has anyone tried this thing? What are its pros and cons and is it really worth the money?

Ebow Plus

i have one it is a fantastic device. cheap, works on any guitar, not to hard on the batteries - just an excelenet peice of kit. I consider the ebow plus to be one of the best peices of equipment i have ever bought.

Ebow Plus

I bought one.. kept it for about 3 weeks and returned it. *It was cool, but I really didn't quite know what to do with it. *I found it really hard to controll the volume of the guitar and it takes a lot of practice to use it effectively. *My biggest problem was this... in live situations, by the time I got it to make the noise, the part in the song was already over! LOL
It's really a cool idea, but i thing a sustainer pickup would be a better way to go.
Just my opinion... I'm sure other players will disagree with me. *And maybe if I would have spent a lot more time on it, I'd feel different. *But for what I was using it for, I can achieve the same effect with a huge delay setting and my volume pedal.

Ebow Plus

im going to get a sustainer on my new guitar, but these are a lot more expensive. I agree with what you say about by the time you made a noise that part of the song is over - just takes practice. I gaffa tape a box to my mic stand at hand height - i also use thumbpicks.

It depends what kinda music you do as to weather they are 'worth' it. Like i say i adore mine

Ebow Plus

I have an ebow from right before the PLUS. *So i only have on and off, no harmonic setting. *I don't care really. *I love the Ebow! *I turn my tone all the way down, and from neck pu volume to about half and go to work! *I can play anything with the ebow that i can pretty much play with my hands. *Arpeggios, licks, etc... *I love it for the sustain. *Pedal tone runs and awesome harmonic and middle eastern type work. *I never leave home without it! *It's become more of a signature thing for me. *I pull it out for at least one song, if not a full song during a set. *Gets alot of attention when the whale sounds and reverse style swells start up! *I love an ebow! *Practice makes perferct. *Listen to some new-age style stuff. *Get good ideas for its use. *Think flute lines. *
