ENGL Footswitches

Hey guys,

I have an ENGL powerball, and I was wondering if you have to use the ENGL Z-4 Footswitch for the Master Volume switching? Or can you use any generic footswitch that connects via a 1/4" jack? I have the Z-5 but in my bands current setup, I have no need to switch between 4 channels.

i'm sure you can use the z-5 into the powerball.. not sure how the switching on those work but i'm sure any footswitch should work as well... i'm using the footswitch that came with my Mesa V-Twin [since I don't have the preamp yet] to access the clean/distorted and hi-gain/lo-gain modes of my E530 preamp. It works since it uses a stereo jack and the footswitch has a stereo plug.

Cool in that case I think I'll run up to Sound Control in the next few days and grab a generic footswitch

just check the back of your amp foor 1/4 inputs that say clean/dist. I know my Engl works with my London City switch box. Although I think Im gonna trade it in for a 2 swith version. since I dont use the mastervolume killer and the reverb switches at all.
