extension cabinet on a combo
i'm planing on buying a marshall 2x12
tube combo
for practising a home,
but could i connect an extension cabinet to the combo for when i am gigging
if so how excatly do i go about this

Yes you could. Buy a cab, hook it up to your combo - simple!
As long as your combo has dual outputs and the impedence of the cab matches the outputs....

Most
Marshall Cabs
have a switch which allows you to select what ohms it uses.

True, but not all. And not all have an 8ohm option if that's what you need. They're usually 4ohm or 16ohm.
