fan question of marshall 9100

Yesterday I bought a second hand marshall 9100 valve poweramp to complete my jmp1 and tc g-major rack. perfect!

I have one question...Is it possible to switch off the fan? Permantly or a switch inside the amp?

Will the amp overheat without?

I just don't like the sound of it when playing at low levels...

All you have to do it to cut the wires that connect the fan to the main board but donīt do that.
