Fender Bassman Compact Solidstate Amp?

I'm considering getting a small keyboard amp (or small practice amp) and running a multieffects/modeling unit through it. I know it's not the same as tubes, but for me right now, playing at a low volume is imperative (young kids) and I like the variety of tones available in the multieffects units. Right now I've got an old Pod 2.0, and I'm thinking I'll upgrade to a Boss GT-8 or 10 or potentially a newer Pod, or similar in the coming months.

I came across this used "Fender Bassman Compact" amp, it's apparently 60W solidstate, 15" speaker, made in the early 80s. I read 1 review where someone was playing through a Pod to it and liked it. I'm wondering if anyone here has used this amp or knows anything about it?? Thanks!!

If you're interested in amplifying a pod I'd look into one of these guys...

I would imagine that keyboard amps would sound kind of muddy with a guitar...You might be able to get good results though.

Re: Fender Bassman Compact Solidstate Amp?

Thanks for the reply. That is an expensive amp to only work with the Pod! I've heard that the keyboard amp is a good way to go with an amp modeler/emulator since it doesn't process/bias the signal any further. At one point I played my Pod through a PA and it sounded really good. A lot of it was convenience, since I was always playing with a keyboard player who had 2 or 3 boards through the PA, so I just plugged right in.

I'm still undecided. I'm sorta limited by budget and don't have a lot of room to dedicate to a practice area. I want to just get something relatively cheap (less than $300) and small. I'll likely wind up with a 1x10" keyboard amp or maybe a little practice guitar amp and still use the Pod for the delay/chorus/etc.
