Fender Super Sonic Combo. hmmmmmmmm..

i tried the 1x12 combo version (in blonde oxblood - not my color!) in a store recently with a new SZ4020 and a couple other guitars and was pretty impressed. you had two incredible clean channels to choose from and a BURN channel that has two gains. if you haven't had the chance to try it - do yourself a favor if you are in the market for a good tube amp and try it. for under $1100, i will definitely consider it when i'm ready to get another combo by years end.
it had a nice "chunk" in the gain dept with the gain levels set moderately. it felt thick and had character and definition whether i played chords or single note lines. i think Fender finally nailed a REAL 2 channel tube amp. lord knows they had the clean down but now i think they finally are getting the gain side together.
i give it two thumbs way up!
*i would like get the 2x12 extension and the head version except for the lack of reverb, compared to the combo having it (why did they do that?). time will tell though at which version i end up getting.*

yep. i felt that way too. go figure? the combo has a 12" spkr AND reverb and is $80 more. jeesh - what is that? i'd pay part of that to have the real reverb in it. if you plan to spend a grand in the first place, what is another few bucks to have the features that SHOULD be there in the first place?
all in all - still a very nice amp.
