Filed a BBB complaint against TC Electronic because of the G Major
Hi everyone,
It's not right that these companies unleash products with shoddy workmanship into the marketplace without consequence. Many, many people have all kinds of issues with the
G Major
so I saw it fitting that I file a Better Business Bureau complaint against TC Electronic and I urge you to do the same if you have issues with your G Major like I do. Go to BBB.org and go to the USA part and then click on find a business and type in tc electronic. They're not hard to find on there.

I do appreciate your point of view and everyone is allowed their own, but to make a blanket statement about vague 'issues' is not fair to the manufacturer.
I would suggest that you list your specific issues with the product in this post (or use the other existing post), then ask if anyone here has had similar issues like you to determine if there is a trend.
If we establish a recurring problem then you have something to talk about - instead of trying to just throw a major manufacturer under the bus because you had an issue or don't care for a product.

Re: Filed a BBB complaint against TC Electronic because of the G Major
IMHO, you've gone off the deep end. It's one piece of gear from their entire line and from what I've seen here, you don't have a lot of test cases to go on.
More to the point, you don't even own a G Major so it would seem that your complaint is pointless but if it makes you feel better, so be it.
Yes, my G Major has a problem but any piece of gear can break regardless of who makes it. I've a TC M2000 that's probably 5 yrs. old and works like a charm. TC Electronic makes great gear and have done so for many, many years but in the end, their gear is designed and built by humans so the possibility of failure, however remote, always exists.

Also the BBB doesn't really do anything. You can find business with literally hundreds of compliants against them running just fine.

Seems like he does. I love mine, never had a single issue with it. Every company comes out with a product that somehow isn't totally up-to-speed, I know I've heard complaints about the majors jog wheel. As its already been pointed out, stuff like that happens to every manufacturer, it doesn't mean all there stuff is crap.

My mistake then. Please excuse me for that error.
Regarding the repair cost, if the product is out of our warranty (the warrant is 1 yr, parts and labor) then it's highly unlikely they will repair it for free.

It still seems like a vitriolic crusade to me, and the BBB complaint, whilst probably meaningless, is a bit petulant.

Idk I've heard of minor flaws with items winning good money, like my Grandpa had a squeaky door on his car so he used the Lemon Law and won a good amt of money and repairs. (He is a perfectionist like I am and he worked with 3m and Honda so I guess he is sorta an A-hole with cars)

Steve,
A quick run through your posting history shows you have a rather large issue with TC and the G Major; all but 2 of your posts are about it (and one of those two is your registration post). Just for the record, we all get it. Find another topic to post about or I will assume you're just trolling the site and you'll be gone from here. If you simply want to whine about the company and the product, do it somewhere else.

Re: Filed a BBB complaint against TC Electronic because of the G Major
I own the G Major. Have babied it the entire time and have had many of the same issues that MANY people have had over the years with the unit. If you actually own any mid level priced TC unit you will realize that they are made from flimsy parts. I worked for a live sound company and we saw all kinds of issues with this stuff so please think again if you think I have no clue what I'm talking about. Call it petty call it whatever you want. I'm just saying that these companies shouldn't be able to release this kind of shoddy workmanship onto the public with only getting people bitching on an internet forum as a result. I think at the very least a poor rating on the BBB is in order and frankly I really don't care if you people do or don't agree. Frankly I completely refuse to give a company a $130 reward for poor workmanship. Many, many many people have the encoder wheel issue. Many also have the randomly freezing issue. Play out with the thing. Have it freeze on you mid gig and then tell me what you think. The post is up for other people who own and are unhappy with the poor workmanship with the G Major. If you can live with its issues fine. I really don't care.

I was trying to help but if you're all just gonna be lil' corporate suck ups and think that these companies can do no wrong then go for it. I learned my lesson and will no longer look out for anyone on here. Stop wasting time bashing people on the internet and you losers might actually ****ing learn something about playing guitar and guitar equipment.
Well yeah, he did, all 9 of them
. Look, everyone knows there's been issues with the G-Major, including everyone on this forum, which should have been evident when you dug up each and every one of those ancient threads. So trust me, your not going to be the G-major Messiah which obviously is the "far better things" your doing then helping a bunch of brats bash you. I would say take the fight over to the T.C.E forums, but judging on your inflamed reactions to our posts, It wouldn't be hard to think you got banned over there too, which your probably about to be here as well.
Bye Bye.
