Finally got my new head!

I haven't got to plug it in yet cause my setup is at my band house. But I can't wait!

I have a question about plugging it into my 8 ohm 4x12. The back looks like this (below). I noticed it said 2x12 under the cab jacks, does it matter that I have a 4x12? I assume I would still plug into the jack above the "2x12"?

Got it used for about $225!

Check this out..... I bet it covers your model! If the cab is 8 ohm you should be able to plug into the 8 ohm jack. Double check your cabinet! It's spelled out pretty well in the manual though!

Even though it says 2x12 it should be fine with a 8 ohm 4x12 cab.

Most 4x12 cabs are wired for 16 ohm operation though similar to a Marshall 4x12. Let us know!

Re: Finally got my new head!

Thanks, I've checked that out. Interesting fact is my "head" is actually the 60w combo chassis, but it's installed in the head format. I just wanted to be sure before plugging anything in. Hopefully I'll get to try it out tomorrow and I'll let you know how it goes!

Re: Finally got my new head!

So I finally got to hook it up to a cab today and it didn't work. No power at all. Checked the fuse and it was blown, so I replaced that and it turns on but I get no sound. I bought the warranty for it but the provided me with no papers saying so. I was told the reciept and all that would come packed with it, but it didn't.

I'm still sure I'll get Guitar center to fix the head for me, after all they put me through 3 weeks of waiting and I bought what was supposed to be a working head, so it's the least they could do.

Re: Finally got my new head!

So it seems guitar center just wants to play games with me. I may have to look into getting it repaired myself. Does anybody know a good amp repair tech in the milwaukee area?

Return it. Honestly, I've heard problems with these amps, anyway. If it's new, and you have the receipt, why play games?

Re: Finally got my new head!

It's not new. Plus with me getting an additional $85 back I only paid about $185 for it. That and I've heard a lot of good things about thier sound, so even if it has some issues I did get it for really cheap and I'd like to get it working at least once so I can hear if it's worth keeping long-term.

Brand new it goes for about $500 now, MF even has a scratch and dent one for $500 something even though they sold them for 350 new about a month ago during some sale.

Re: Finally got my new head!

So I just got a call back from the guy working on my head. He said it just needed a good cleaning. I'll be picking it up tomorrow All in all, if guitar center would have done the right thing and just fixed it for me they wouldn't be out so much money. I got $70 back for them sending it to the wrong state, and another $80 for me to let them off the hook. The repairs costed $31, so they really messed up.

I paid in the end about $200 for the head with the repairs.
