Fingerflyers - Anyone ever tried these things?

I just saw an ad in a magazine for fingerweights for practicing guitar.. seems like an interesting idea, anyone tried them? They're up at http://www.fingerflyers.com

Fingerflyers

'Tis a silly idea. *Weight training works because they provide resistance against gravity, but if you look at your fingers you'll see that they're not perpendicular to the direction of gravity. *If you play, lying on your back, they may have some effect. *Also the load should be progressively increased to gain any real benefit. I suppose they will provide some inertia as resistance-a bit. *

The muscles that control the fingers are odd in that they're all in the forearm (pretty much-otherwise you'd have very fat fingers) the operated *by intricate remote cabling and are actually very fatigue resistant (type *I muscle fibres). *I think they're a marketing ploy/gimmick.
