Footswitch-tone?

Hey all, hope all is well. Just wondering if footswitches can affect tone AT ALL. Even the slightest effect I want to know ! If so, does the Boss FS-6 effect tone any more than any other footswitch?
I understand this question may seem silly, but I just want to be absolutely sure before I get an FS-6 for my Valveking 100 head that it won't affect my tone at all/any more than the stock footswitch. Please help... You know you want to
Thanks
Regards
Jon

Re: Footswitch-tone?

A footswitch is, well, exactly what it describes: a switch, operated by a foot. The only thing that footswitches (almost always) actually do is provide a way to operate a switch --one that is already in your amplifier -- remotely. There is no actual signal going into or out of your footswitch so there's no need to worry about tonal repercussions from using one footswitch versus another. Just make sure you get the right type for your amp. Some amplifiers use momentary switches.

Re: Footswitch-tone?

If the guitar signal doesn't pass through the pedal, how can it affect tone at all?

Who are you, Eric Johnson? Buy the pedal and try it. If your ears complain then return the pedal and move on.

Re: Footswitch-tone?

yes, it will definitely affect the tone. when you click the channel switch, it will change it from clean to dirty, or the opposite. reverb switches also turn reverb on and off
