Furman Power Supplies - Are these good? Other competitors?

I don't have a ton of gear, but my amp is a Line 6 Flextone so I an naturally concerned about the occasional voltage spike or dip. I've been looking into picking up a Furman Power Supply (my first piece of rack-mount gear!) Have any of you had experience with these? I notice there are a few models available. Also, if there are any competitors worth noting, let me know so I can consider those options, also. Thanks!

I have the Furman PL8, it is worth it's weight in gold. *It's saved my rack at a few gigs, primarily outdoor gigs where they were generator powered. *I recommend them very highly. *I had one instance where we had a massive surge, and it toasted the power conditioner, but saved $6000 worth of rack gear, well worth the $150 investment on the power conditioner.

Sold! Those are exactly the little unexpected moments I fear. At least the investment is minimal. Now I just need to determine what kind of rack to get (if any) for the time being. Decisions,decisions...

I have a PL8E with the lights (E is the euro version) and this is great. Luckily I havent had to go through any voltage spikes but fingers crossed I will be ready

I recommend them and is you look at all the professional racks they all have a Furman or something similar.

best wishes

I have the PL-PRO, the 20amp version I made adapter for that works on 15 amps.

I've had zero problems with it and in 13 years it's my 2nd Furman unit. Highly recommended.

Any comments on the reliability of just a simple power strip with a voltage regulator? *If you don't have a rack, it seems kinda silly and inconvient to have one just for a power conditioner. *They have power strips at the local hardware store that say they'll insure up to $25,000 worth of equipment against voltage spikes. *Pros/Cons?

I don't know, I haven't seen a simple power strip with a regulator that I trust, I'd research the gaurantee quite a bit first
