GAS = My first tube amp!

was walking home from work today and stopped by the local guitar shop to pick up some drum sticks, when i noticed they had a peavey prowler for under $400... I resisted for about an hour or so before running down there before they closed.

I had been looking at mid sized tube amps for quite a while, so i was allready familiar with features, etc. I'll have a review up after a while with the amp, if anyone is interested.

EDIT: Sorry I forgot, but the features of the amp are as follows:
12" speaker
45 Watts
2 6l6, 12ax7/ecc83 driver
Reverb
2 channels - both with eq
foot pedal with channel and boost switch
Resonance switch
Effects Loop
Speaker output
bright switch
2 boost switches - volume and gain

I just got my first tube amp too!

i grabbed a used peavey classic 50.
its got:
2 - 12" speakers
50 watts through 4 EL84's (JJ tubes)
3 ECC83s preamp tubes (JJs as well)
2 channels (beautiful lead channel)
master EQ (only thing i dont like about it, gunna get me an eq pedal)
2 speaker jacks

shes a gorgeous thug she is, yellow tweed too
i might look into your peavey too, i was thinking about running a 2 amp rig, one with a better gain circuit so i can go from beautiful cleans, to creamy overdrives, to rip-your-head-off-and-kill-your-family distortion

wow

last night i had the pleasure of playing with my amp at high volume with some friends. the speaker out jack is very useful. this amp is plenty loud, especially if you plug into a 4 12 cab.

as far as sound goes, i had the eq on the clean channel pretty much near the middle on all bands, so there's still plenty of room for tweaking there. the drive channel however needs more trebble. i had it maxed out on that band, and still didn't seem like quite enough. maybe if i turn down the other bands it will be ok. since i use primarily clean sounds, i'm not too worried.
